Student Scholarships to History Camp Boston 2023

Thanks to the generosity of Scott Kirsner & Amy Traverso and Jocelyn Gilmartin, this year we are able to provide a limited number of scholarships to high school and college students.

Who can apply? High school and college students aged 15–25 years old who have not already registered.

What is covered? These scholarships cover the registration fee for History Camp Boston on Saturday, August 12, and include lunch.

What is the application process? These scholarships will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Simply send a note to us at Boston@HistoryCamp.org with some information on you, including your age, where you’re going to school, why you’re interested in attending History Camp Boston, and your commitment that, if selected, you will attend. This isn’t an essay contest, but we would like to know a little about you. And because of the limited number of spots, please only apply if you are 100% certain that you will attend if you receive a scholarship.

If you are 15 and older but younger than 18, we will send you a waiver that you’ll need to get a parent or guardian to sign before we will send the information on registering.

Will there be many others in attendance who are high school or college aged? We have a few every year. Scott and Amy told us last year that they wanted to give more young folks the opportunity to attend and are generously underwriting these scholarships this year. It’s the first time we’ve been able to offer scholarships of any kind and we’re excited that you’ll be joining us.

What about the tours on Sunday or the this year’s History Camp Boston 2023 t-shirt? The scholarship applies to the fee for Saturday’s History Camp and includes lunch. You can purchase those other items when you register.

Where can I learn more about History Camp? The video at the top of this page gives you a good overview. In fact, it includes a clip with Scott. This page has photos of History Camp Boston 2022. And this page lists the sessions and speakers announced so far this year.

Who do I contact if I have more questions? Send e-mail to Boston@HistoryCamp.org.
