Welcome to History Camp!

Casual conferences • Author discussions • Historic site tours
Online and in-person

We created History Camp in 2014 and now organize annual History Camps in Boston, Colorado, Virginia—and coming soon to Philadelphia! In 2021, we launched our first nationwide event, History Camp America, which welcomed attendees to an online History Camp event. In addition, local groups in Iowa and the Pioneer Valley, Massachusetts, host events using the History Camp model.

These casual conferences and events bring together history lovers from all walks of life. Dozens of sessions, tables from authors and history organizations, historical re-enactors, and more. Ideas are exchanged and connections made. We’ve posted several presentations on our History Camp Archive page, which list all History Camp and History Camp Discussions recorded talks, and site tours from America’s Summer Roadtrip.

History Camp, America’s Summer Roadtrip, and the weekly History Camp Discussions series are projects of the non-profit organization The Pursuit of History. We hope you’ll consider joining us in The Pursuit of History and supporting these initiatives.

History Camp America

Our first national History Camp.

On Saturday, July 10, 2021, we held the first History Camp America—welcoming more than 500 attendees! History Camp America 2021 was all online, with more than 45 sessions, including presentations, historic site tours, history walks, culinary history demonstrations, trivia, session-stretch yoga, and more!

Every presentation, historic site tour, history walk, and culinary history demonstration was recorded, and registrants received exclusive access for one year after the event.
