Women in No Man’s Land: The American Committee for Devastated France, 1917–1924
Three years into World War I and months before American men began to fight, a company of brave women fought to help the refugees whose ruined lives and homes lay along the Western Front. This presentation will acquaint participants with the courageous women who entered the world of men and war to help bring hope to the hopeless.
Gail Baden is an accidental her-storian. Personal and family connections introduced her to the American Committee for Devastated France which she has been researching for more than ten years.
