Julie Montagu, Viscountess Hinchingbrooke an American who married into the British Aristocracy, Earl of Sandwich peerage, will tell us about meeting the owners of some of the UK’s finest stately homes, castles and gardens, what she has learned about their history and how these historic places are managed and lived in today as comfortable family homes.

Julie will also explain the importance of the American Heiress during the agricultural depression, why Wallis Simpson and Meghan Markle helped pique American fascination with the British upper class, how the homeowners of these castles, manors and stately homes have adapted to the 21st Century and draw on her own experience as an American of living in and maintaining Mapperton House, ‘England’s Finest Manor House’.
