Friends of History Camp Reception at the Hampshire House
We are pleased to invite our valued 2026 Friends of History Camp to a special evening reception at the beautiful and historic Hampshire House in Boston the night before History Camp.

Location: Hampshire House, 84 Beacon Street, Boston, MA [Parking available at the Boston Commons Garage. Bring your ticket to the front desk for validation.]
Join us for an elegant gathering featuring light hors d’oeuvres, good company, and a chance to connect with others who share your commitment to the pursuit of history, creating a place where people who love history can share ideas, learn new things, and have fun. This exclusive event is our way of expressing gratitude to those who make History Camp possible.
Become a 2026 Friend of History Camp to receive an invitation to this year’s reception! The annual Friends of History Camp Reception is exclusively for individuals who have made an additional donation at the Friends level.

The history of Hampshire House
Located at 84 Beacon Street in Boston, the Hampshire House is a 1910 Georgian Revival mansion.
The townhouse was commissioned for Bayard and Ruth Thayer, wealthy members of Boston’s high society, and built by architect Ogden Codman Jr. The opulent space featured carved oak paneling, crystal chandeliers, and Palladian windows.
It is most widely known today for housing the basement pub that inspired the hit 1980s sitcom Cheers.
