In conjunction with The History List and History Camp, the Boch Center is offering a one of a kind, behind the scenes exploration into the history of theatre in Boston at both the Wang & Shubert Theatres. Opened in the era of Vaudeville, Speakeasies, and Silent Pictures, these historic theatres have lasted the test of time through the evolution of content and preserving the beauty within. This 90 minute tour will allow you to experience each theatre like never before and provide ample opportunities to soak in all of the historic art and architecture without the pre-show crowds. Throughout the tour, we will focus on the original design of each theatre and how certain elements have evolved or been preserved over 90+ years. As one of the nation’s largest non-profit performing arts centers, The Boch Center is focused on the preservation of history and bringing the arts to all.
